What are Workplaces and how do I add one?

What are Workplaces?

Workplaces are a way for you to logically separate your places of work; these can be physical locations, branches, or even businesses within your Pata Business Account.

Each workplace you set up will have it's own online profile on Pata Marketplace where Pet Parents search, view and book services.

If you have multiple locations, branches or franchises, or think you might expand in the future, you don't need to set up multiple Pata Business Accounts, as this can all be managed in one place using workplaces.

How do I add Workplaces?

  1. Click the Workplace icon on the side menu
  2. Click Add Workplace
  3. Add the necessary information needed to set up, using the below steps
    • Add General info
      • Add your Workplace name
      • Add a description. The description can be a general overview of the business and services offered
    • Click Next and add Opening times
      • Set the default working hours for your workplace that will visible on your profile - these hours do not impact your calendar availability
      • You can also add "periods", so if you're closed for lunch, then you can set a morning period and an afternoon period. For example:
        9:00am - 1:00pm, closed for 1 hour, then open again from 2:00pm - 6:00pm
        Closed on certain dates?
Once you're set up you can add Closed Dates via Settings > Workplaces.
    • Click Next and add Categories
      • Choose the main category for your workplace as well as other categories that apply to you
Please note: You can only choose 1 main workplace category, but as many "other" categories as you like.
This will affect how your business appears in the Marketplace when Pet Parents search for services; If you select Dog Walker, you will appear when someone specifically searches for Dog Walking services in your area.
    • Click Next and add Contact Details

      • Add a phone number and email - this is how the client can get in touch with you

    • Click Next and add Location

      • Add the address where the Business operates

If your workplace is a personal address and you don't want your address visible, or you're mobile Business, you can use the toggle to hide your address, which will prevent this appearing on your profile.
    • Click Next and add Web & Social

      • Add your website if you have one

      • Select the Social media platform from the dropdown and add the link so you can engage further with your clients

    • Click Next and upload Media

      • Upload your top photos showing your workplace and the amazing work you do, by clicking Upload Media

      • The first image you upload will be the cover photo when a Pet Parent views your profile

    • Click Next and set up Billing

      • Set your billing details to appear on the client’s receipts by inputting the Company name and address

    • Settings

      • List the workplace on the Marketplace by using the Listing status toggle. This will allow Clients to book appointments via the Marketplace.

Note: This is for appointments only. To take online payments, PataPay must be set up. See how to set it up here.
      • Set your profile to accept new clients immediately after setting up by using the toggle (this can be turned on later if you wish to set up fully first).

      • Add T&Cs such as a general contract between you and client

      • If you're a Mobile Business, you can also add the travel distance here - this will determine whether your profile shows up when searching in specific locations/cities, using the distance you input

  4. Click Save

Your workplace will then display in the Marketplace, and you can add closed dates and add new appointments, and add new Team Members, or update existing Team Members who can provide services at this workplace.
