How do I set up notifications for clients?

Note: Ensure that when you add a new Client or you update existing Clients, their contact details are correct and notifications are enabled.

Reduce late cancellations and no-shows by sending appointment reminders, or any other reminders you think might be necessary.

You'll have a default appointment reminder already set up, which is set to 1 day before the appointment.

You can then set up multiple reminders to send to clients x amount of times before an appointment, e.g. order by ascending.

The frequency of this is entirely up to you, but we suggest setting up at least 2 reminders e.g. 1 week before and 1 day before. This helps reduce the number of cancellations and no-shows, and gives the Client time to reschedule if needed.

Notifications can be sent by both email and/or text (SMS) and you will get 150 free texts a month. However, once you've set up Pata Pay, you'll receive unlimited text notifications at no extra cost.

We advise using both emails and SMS as emails can be easily missed, and this helps keep the Client accountable, therefore reducing late cancellations and no-shows.

Add a reminder

  1. Click on the Settings icon on the side menu
  1. Select the Notifications section and click on the Reminders tab
  2. Click Add New Reminder
  3. Use the dropdown to select the Time Before the appointment
  4. Click Next
  5. Select the Channel/s (Email and/or SMS) the notifications will be sent
  6. Click Save

Please note: As mentioned at the start of this article, Clients will only receive the notifications if they have them enabled when they've been added to the Client list, or they have been updated.

Clients can opt-out of communications, but we advise against this.
