How do Notifications work?

Created by Jessica Hoi, Modified on Wed, 28 Aug at 1:22 PM by Jessica Hoi

Using notifications is a simple and effective way of communicating with your client, keeping them up to date with every update, or reminding them they have an appointment to avoid no-shows.

Notifications can be sent by:

  • Email
  • Text (SMS) - you will get X free texts a month, and once these have been used up, you'll need to top up. PRICING LINK HERE

Pata encourage enabling both email and text notifications to Clients as emails can be easily missed, and this helps keep the Client accountable and reduce late cancellations and no-shows.

How to view notifications

  1. Click on the Settings icon on the side menu
  2. Select the Notifications section

There are 2 tabs - appointments and reminders.

Each notification/reminder will be labelled with SMS and/or Email if these have been activated (both are enabled by default), and whether the notification is enabled. You cannot add notifications, but you can add reminders.

By default, there are 5 appointment notifications and 1 reminder that are ready for use and enabled when you've onboarded:

Appointment notifications:

Reminders:

  • X time before appointment - triggered time before the appointment you set. Options are:
    • 30 minutes
    • 1 hour
    • 3 hours
    • 1 day
    • 3 days
    • 5 days
    • 1 week

While you can't add new appointment notifications, you can add additional reminders as needed.

Note: Ensure that when you add a new Client or you update existing Clients, their contact details are correct and notifications are enabled.
